The Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie was one of the most awaited films in the year 2007. Many die-hard fans around the world were not only awaiting the eager return of their favorite hero Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), but were also keen on finding out about new director David Yates. The new director doesnt disappoint his viewers, even though he had a tough job of churning 870 pages into a 2.5 hours movie.
There are a number of key events that are taking place in this movie such as the return of He Who must Not be Named, O.W.L exams and the intrusion of the Ministry of Magic in Hogwarts. The movie starts with Harry walking down a street with his cousin Dudley (Harry Melling) and suddenly finding dementors attacking them. He fights them off but this leads to complication with the Ministry of Magic. Seeing that the Ministry of Magic is not doing their job properly Dumbledore re-starts the Order of the Phoenix, a secret society of magicians who come together for one cause; to destroy Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes).
Dolores Umbridge is one of the new characters in the Harry Potter series and her role is played by Imelda Staunton, who plays her snobbish and strict teachers role to absolute perfection. In the movie, like most other teachers she fails to bring the Weasley twins under control and they leave the school in grand style to start their new venture. Dolores Umbridge, the woman in pink from the Ministry of Magic, was one of the most effective and influential characters in this movie.
Harry, Hermione and Ron are keen to know more about the Order of the Phoenix and are soon brought to The House of the Black, Sirus Blacks family home, which is their secret hideout. Harry and his friends from Hogwarts soon meet the grumpy old house elf named Kreacher and also other members of the Order. Harry is surprised to find one person in the Order and doesnt trust or like this person.
One of the latest additions to the Potter series characters is Dolores Umbridge. This lady in pink is an employee with the Ministry of Magic and has been sent to take control of things at Hogwarts. Her conservative and cruel ways soon create a strong student dislike against her. Imelda Staunton plays the strict and snobbish persons role brilliantly and is one of the biggest success of this movie.
Director David Yates manages to use special effects extremely well and pleases all with the creation of the Thestrals. In addition, the casting for the role of Umbridge and Bellatrix was perfect. Many critics say that this was by far the best of the series, so far.
